Prussian blue nanoparticles for biomedical applications

Prussian blue nanoenzyme (Prussian blue nanzyme) is a mixed valence coordination network nanostructure with multiple enzyme analog activities, excellent photothermal effect and good biological safety. Compared with other nanomaterials, Prussian blue nanoenzymes have unique advantages in the biomedical field. Prussian blue nanoenzymes can change their size, morphology, composition, and function through different regulatory strategies to meet different biomedical needs.

Prussian blue nanoenzyme has wide application prospects in disease treatment, mainly including the following aspects:

Tumor treatment: Prussian blue nanoenzyme can use its photothermal effect and enzyme mimetic activity to produce high temperature and reactive oxygen species for synergistic killing of tumor cells. In addition, Prussian blue nanoenzymes can also be used as drug carriers or imaging probes to achieve targeted therapy and diagnosis of tumors.

Bacterial infection treatment: Prussian blue nanoenzyme can inhibit the growth and virulence of bacteria by eliminating hydrogen peroxide and superoxide anion produced by simulating the activity of peroxide enzyme and peroxide dismutase produced by bacteria. Prussian blue nanoenzymes can also act in concert with antibiotics or other nanomaterials to enhance their antibacterial efficacy.

Treatment of inflammatory diseases: Prussian blue nanoenzymes can reduce oxidative stress and inflammation by simulating the activity of superoxide dismutase and catalase to remove excess reactive oxygen species in the body. Prussian blue nanoenzymes can also be treated at specific sites of inflammation through photothermal effects or drug carrier function.
