Title:
Strain-coupled, crystalline polymer-inorganic interfaces for efficient magnetoelectric sensing
Research idea:
This work adopts an interfacial eutectic strategy to construct a sub-molecularly flat crystalline composite interface between ferromagnetic nanosheets and ferroelectric polymers. It suppresses energy dissipation and improves interfacial energy transfer efficiency, yielding composite films with flexibility and favorable magnetoelectric coupling properties. The films are cross-integrated with thermoelectric devices to explore multifunctional wearable sensing schemes.
Material development:
(1) Materials: diazotization-modified vanadium diselenide nanosheets, polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) (2) Functions: Vanadium diselenide nanosheets offer ferromagnetic properties; PVDF acts as a flexible ferroelectric polymer matrix; the formed crystalline interface optimizes magnetoelectric coupling and energy transfer.
Most existing magnetoelectric materials are rigid, and flexible ferroelectric polymer systems are prone to energy dissipation. This work constructs crystalline polymer-inorganic interfaces to obtain high-performance flexible magnetoelectric films and provides new ideas for the development of flexible magnetoelectric sensing materials.
