Biomimetic MXene Integrated System for Flexible Sensing & Visualization

(1) Journal source:

Nature Communications

(2) Title:

Biomimetic MXene Flexible Sensing-Treatment-Visualization Integrated System

(3) Research idea:

Inspired by biological cell membranes, this work adopts a coordinated design strategy of material, architecture and function to construct a flexible sensing-treatment-visualization integrated system based on MXene. Multiple functional units are integrated on a shared conductive substrate to realize the integration of multi-signal perception, information processing and optical output.

(4) Material development:

1) Materials: Ti₃AlC₂ is etched via the MILD method to obtain MXene fractions with distinct structural features, which are further modified into MXene-based functional materials matched for different units.

2) Functions: Different MXene components serve for piezoelectric sensing, photoelectric synaptic signal processing and optical feedback of quantum-dot LEDs respectively. The system enables multimodal signal recognition, neuromorphic information computation and biomimetic color response, offering a new route for biomimetic flexible electronics.
