ame/Model: Methacryloyl (SilMA) Silk Fibroin Methacryloyl (SilMA) ¡¾ Main advantage ¡¿ Silk Fibroin (SF) is derived from the degumming treatment of silk and is a polymer polypeptide composed of a variety of amino acids. The SF molecule consists of a hydrophobic peptide chain (H chain) and a hydrophilic peptide chain (L chain). The special amino acid sequences of H and L chains enable them to form a variety of protein secondary conformations. Various properties of silk fibroin materials can be effectively controlled by regulating the secondary structure of silk fibroin protein, including the preparation of high-strength and high-orientation materials. SF has good biocompatibility, biodegradability, high tensile strength and other characteristics, and has been used in various biomedical fields, including wound dressings, artificial blood vessels, cell culture and so on.
Silk Fibroin Methacryloyl (SilMA) is the modification of SF with glycidyl methacrylate to introduce double bond on SF molecule. Due to the special spatial structure of SF molecule, it is easy to form crystallization and difficult to dissolve in water before modification. When additional chemical groups are introduced, SilMA quickly dissolves in water, which allows it to be photocured into a hydrogel.
